TRAVIS’S Showers

Support the Soupman is a registered 501(c)(3) charity that helps the homeless. The Soupman was founded by Peter Kelleher, who hails from Maine. His son Travis, tragically passed on the streets of Bangor Maine, after a long struggle with addiction. In his memory, Peter began a grassroots campaign that supplied homemade, hot soup to the homeless. This labor of love, soon evolved into more – supplying seasonal clothing and personal hygiene supplies.

Our latest endeavor is the desire to install portable showers throughout New England. We would like the homeless to experience just one of life’s comforts that most of us take for granted.

We purchased our first portable shower in March 2019. This shower frequents the cities of Brockton and Taunton, MA, and Pawtucket, RI. Our second shower was gifted by the Kraft Foundation and was delivered to us on May 2020. We are actively seeking a charitable organization, within the greater Boston area, looking to house this shower.  Our third shower was delivered July 2020 and has been given a permanent home in Bangor, Maine.

We are actively seeking donations to purchase an additional shower and help with the costs associated with keeping them up and running. Your compassion will greatly impact the life of a fellow human being. The restored dignity of a decent shower and clean clothes can elevate a person from despair to HOPE.
