Support the Soupman is a registered 501(c)(3) charity… We help the homeless. The Soupman was founded by Peter Kelleher, who hails from Maine. This is where his son, Travis, tragically passed away after a long struggle with addiction. In his memory, Peter began a grassroots campaign that supplied homemade, hot soup to the homeless. This labor of love, soon evolved into more – supplying warm clothing, hygiene supplies, see our complete list of needed items here, and our newest endeavor – portable showers. We would like the homeless to experience just a few of life’s comforts that most of us take for granted.
The Soupman has already purchased one portable shower which visits Brockton and Taunton, MA, and Pawtucket, RI on a weekly basis. We are continuously working on providing showers in other cities as well. We are now raising funds for a second shower for Bangor, ME. We’ve made a gofundme page specifically for this shower which costs approximately $65,000 to get up and running. Please consider donating to this cause and share this post with any of your friends in ME and beyond….
